This bill would require a development authority director to be a resident or licensed business owner, paying taxes on property, within the jurisdiction of the development authority.
A city or county government would be authorized to remove a development authority director if such requirements are not met or there is a risk of unethical behavior to the local government. Should a local government want to remove a development authority director based on a violation of such criteria, this bill would require the city or county to notify the director 30 days prior to holding a hearing. Subject to the findings of the hearing, the local government would have the authority to remove the director, and seek replacement via a resolution.
