House Bill 230 authorizes a qualified consolidated government to levy a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) to help fund the aquisition, construction, renovation, improvement, and equipping of buildings, structures, and facilities as successors to the former Augusta coliseum. The SPLOST shall be a 0.5 percent sales tax on motor fuel and will be a ballot question for voters.
