Annexation - Changing How Contiguous Areas Calculated
Land Use and Annexation |
Current law allows municipalities, when utilizing the 100% method of annexation, to annex multiple parcels so long as at least one-eighth of the aggregate external boundary or 50 feet of the area to be annexed, whichever is less, directly abuts the city. This legislation would require that each parcel in such an annexation have at least one-eighth of its aggregate external boundary or 50 feet of the parcel, whichever is less, to directly abut the city.
