This bill would create a 22 member commission to examine facilities regulated by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), Georgia’s superfund sites, analyze and report on past enforcement actions, review state and local policies and roles in siting and land use, and determine disproportionate environmental impacts on people of color and low-income communities. 

Commission members to be appointed by June 30, 2021 to serve until October 1, 2022.

Study assignments to be made not later than August 30, 2021 with preliminary report due not later than April 30, 2022. Final report due September 30, 2027.
