This resolution would create a study committee entitled the House Study Committee on Georgia Utility Facility Safety Improvements to review current exemptions for traffic control devices and traffic management systems under the Georgia Utility Facilities Protection Act (GUFPA). Currently, local governments own and operate such assets, but those are not considered utility facilties in GUFPA.

This study committee will also be tasked with examining procedural changes for locate requests. 

This study committee will be comprised of five House members and the Chair of the Georgia Utility Coordinating Council (GUCC) Legislative Committee, as a nonvoting member.
