City Council unanimously approved a budget amendment at their Monday meeting to allow for the hiring of the new officers. "We just don't want to come up short on supervision and having back-up capability," said City Manager Stan Brown.
The Oakwood City Council delayed a vote Monday, Aug. 12, on whether to commercialize a corner of the future Exit 14 off Interstate 985 in South Hall.

Applicant Tyler Gaines had requested the 15-acre property 4270 Martin Road be rezoned from "Multi Family Residential" to "Highway Business."
