Richmond Hill mayor pro tem resigns from council

For the third time in less than a year, the Richmond Hill City council will lose a member to resignation when Mayor Pro Tem Tara Baraniak steps down after the Aug. 19 council meeting.Like former council members Jan Bass and John Fesperman, Baraniak is resigning because she is relocating and moving outside the city.

Richmond Hill City Council proposes $185 fire fee per household

Richmond Hill taxpayers may see a boost in their tax bills later this year if a plan by the city council is passed next month. The plan to add $185 to each residential property owner’s tax bill and $250 to city businesses for a “fire fee” passed its first hurdle Tuesday night when the council held a first reading of the proposed new fee.

The city of Richmond Hill’s Downtown Development Authority has received a Vibrant Communities Grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA). These funds will support a mural of J.F. Gregory and Henry Ford in J.F. Gregory Park.
