COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign Toolkit

“It’s Worth a Shot” is GMA's comprehensive public information campaign around the COVID-19 vaccine. This campaign was built to contribute to Gov. Brian Kemp’s and the Georgia Department of Health’s goal to vaccinate as many Georgians as possible during spring and early summer 2021, reach 70%-80% vaccination rate and achieve herd immunity. The goal of this campaign is to provide all of Georgia’s cities—regardless of their size, location or communications resources—the tools to educate their residents on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Summaries of UGA/GMA COVID-19 Survey

5/20/2020

City governments are on the front line of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The threat of widespread illness impacts how city governments deliver services to the public, how cities interact with state and federal agencies for assistance and how cities solicit the cooperation of the public in the protection of public health. The University of Georgia and GMA conducted a survey of city governments in the state between April 8 and 22 to learn more about how municipalities are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. This four-part series of essays by Dr. Eric Zeemering summarizes the survey results, explains how city governments remained open and engaged, outlines city-level perspectives on the intergovernmental response to the pandemic and illustrates the networks that have formed to respond to health and economic aspects of the pandemic at the local level.
