Event Description

The Youth Council obtained a grant from the Savannah Tree Foundation and planted 25 trees on the Island. They attendee Chatham Day at the Capitol each January. The Tybee Island Youth Council has aspirations of traveling to Washington DC. They have had many fundraisers, the last was a Field Day that they designed. They started with a car wash, bake sale and then moved to Memorial Park where they sponsored an Extravaganza. This included face painting, hot dog and hamburger sale, bounce house, dunking booth just to name a few. Local artists were invited to participate and at the end of the day, proceeds were close to $3,000. This was due to the efforts of the members of the Youth Council, NOT their parents.
