Midway’s new city hall complex is rapidly taking shape—the cupola is now atop the building—and Mayor Levern Clancy is hoping the city can occupy the building in October.
Midway is awaiting its city attorney’s approval of a work order that may settle a years-long dispute between the city and the Liberty County Development Authority over water and sewer service.
Local government officials and municipalities have been meeting to discuss TSPLOST. They are planning to place it on the Nov. 5 ballot in 2019.
Fire protection was brought up during Midway City Council’s Monday meeting. Emergency Management Director Mike Hodges and Deputy Director/Fire Chief Brian Darby offered to answer questions about the need to move a county-owned tanker truck to a station where it could serve more rural areas.
