GMA presented Governor Brian P. Kemp with the Georgia Key Citizen Award during GMA’s Annual Convention in Savannah on Sunday, June 28, recognizing his steadfast support of local government and his lasting contributions to communities across the state.
General Assembly Concludes Special Session
The Georgia General Assembly adjourned its June Special Session on June 23. Nearly 100 LHOST local Acts failed to reach the required two-thirds majority. The legislature extended Georgia's election system through 2028 and ratified Governor Kemp's fuel tax suspension. No redistricting changes were made.
