The Children & Nature Network (C&NN) and the National League of Cities (NLC), through the Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) initiative, offers teams from cities and school districts an opportunity to transform asphalt schoolyards into safe, nature-filled outdoor spaces that benefit students, the community and the local environment.
Attend a half-day workshop on February 17, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm EST which will outline the benefits, process, and next steps for developing green schoolyards in your city. The deadline to apply online is January 29. If you attend the half-day workshop, you will be eligible to apply for technical assistance. This program supports the planning, funding, execution and sustainability of green schoolyards in your city.
Cities, school districts and local nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. The application for the workshop should be submitted by a cross-sector team with four to six members representing at least one city department, one to two school district representatives, and one local organization. All team members must attend the workshop to be eligible for technical assistance.
