Fifty Georgia Cities & Organizations Recognized for Exemplary Civility and Ethical Governance

During the GMA's 2025 Annual Convention, 50 Georgia cities and partner organizations were recognized for upholding the highest standards of public service through the association's Embrace Civility and Certified City of Ethics programs.

Cities & Organizations of Civility

Participants earn the Civility designation by formally adopting GMA’s Civility Resolution and pledging to engage in civil behavior with each other as well as other organizations and partners they work with.

Certified Cities of Ethics

First launched in 1999, GMA’s Ethics program requires participating cities to adopt a comprehensive ethics ordinance addressing conflicts of interest, financial disclosures, due-process protections and penalties for violations. Recertification is required every four years to ensure continuous compliance.
