GMA will hold the two-day 2026 Winter Training West Event February 12-13, 2026 at the Historic Griffin City Hall.

The event features two 6-hour classes on Thursday, February 12 and two six-hour classes on Friday, February 13. Each class is 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Thursday, February 12 classes are:

• Building Collaborative Relationships to Solve Community Challenges
• Municipal Finance I* 

The Friday, February 13 classes are:

• Governing the Commons: Collective Decision Making in Complex Systems*+ 
• Harmony in Leadership: Nurturing Kindness, Civility, and Transformational Influence
  

*This class is on the required list for the Municipal Training Institute Certificate Program.

+This class is in the Training Institute’s Advanced Leadership Track and is required to earn the Certificate of Dedication. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations after January 26  incur a $50.00 per class cancellation fee.  Cancellations after February 2 will not be refunded.

Lodging: GMA has reserved rooms at the historic Griffin Hotel, 132 W Solomon St. Griffin, GA 30223 at the rate of $116++ to $179++ a night, depending on room type. Reservations must be made by calling the hotel: 470-771-3340 and asking for the GMA Room Block.
