The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employs more than 20,000 people nationwide. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., they have 10 regional offices located across the country. They leverage a tremendous capacity to coordinate within the federal government to make sure America is equipped to prepare for and respond to disasters.
Grants
The SAFER Program provides funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter organizations to increase the number of firefighters. This funding supports communities in meeting industry standards, achieving 24-hour staffing, and ensuring adequate protection from fire hazards while supporting the traditional missions of fire departments.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program aims to deliver essential resources to equip and train emergency personnel to meet recognized standards.
The purpose of the FP&S Program is to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards.
