Governor's Office of Highway Safety Innovative Highway Safety Grants

Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has been granted federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to promote the development and implementation of innovative programs to address highway safety problems relating to speeding, impaired driving, pedestrian & bicycle safety, motorcycle safety, occupant protection, and other highway safety programs. Proposed programs must be data driven and based on proven countermeasures and must address one or more of the following issues:
- Occupant Protection Programs
- Young Adult Traffic Safety Program
- Law Enforcement Programs
- Administrative Judges and DUI Court Programs
- Minority Highway Safety Programs
- Non-Motorized Safety Grants
- Older Drivers and Passengers
- Unattended Passengers Program
- Teen Traffic Safety Program
Eligibility
Potential grantees/partners within the State of Georgia include but is not limited to: local law enforcement agencies, county health departments, high schools (private and public), colleges and universities (private and public), citizen groups/civic organizations, churches and faith-based communities county councils, mayors, EMS, county agencies, not-for-profit organizations.

Mandatory Application Training
GOHS will host a MANDATORY in-person application training for any agency wishing to submit an application on Monday, July 28, 2025. Any agency, entity or organization wanting to submit an application must have at least one representative attend this training session.
To register for the workshop, please register here prior to July 22, 2025. To ensure there is enough space, please make sure each person attending has registered.
All prospective applicants should read the RFP before attending the training session.
