K9 Ballistic Vest Donation Program

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the country. Vested Interest in K9s has donated over 6,540 ballistic vests to law enforcement K9s in all 50 states.

Vest awards are given on a first-come, first-served basis as funds become available. The application does not guarantee a K9 vest will be awarded.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:

    • K9 must be actively employed in the United States (law enforcement/first responders only; the program does not vest military K9s, search and rescue OR private security K9s)
    • K9 must be certified with his/her current handler
    • K9 must be at least 20 months of age
    • K9 does not have a current issue ballistic vest
    • K9 is not scheduled for retirement within 12 months of the date of inquiry

How to Apply

Please note that this is a two-step application process.

    1. Qualify eligibility through the Inquiry Form and submit.
    2. After internal review, applicants will be emailed the full application. They must then complete a full application, provide supporting documents, and upload to the web portal. The online inquiry form is not the complete application.
