The purpose of the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program is to provide new or significantly improved recreation opportunities in urban, disadvantaged communities lacking access to walkable outdoor recreation.

This competition will prioritize the selection of projects that:

• Create or significantly enhance access to park and recreational opportunities in a qualifying area;
• Engage and empower low-income communities and youth;
• Provide employment or job training opportunities for youth or low-income communities;
• Establish or expand public-private partnerships, with a focus on leveraging resources; and
• Take advantage of coordination among various levels of government

Please note: ORLP is a completely separate application process from the Georgia DNR's LWCF grant program. If you are currently receiving or have received LWCF grant(s) within the last 7 years, you may not apply for an ORLP grant at the same park.

Eligibility

Incorporated city (or town) or county having a population of 25,000 or more in the most recent Census, or 2 or more adjacent urban areas with a combined population of 25,000 or more in the most recent census, or an area administered by a federally recognized Indian Tribe or an Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian community organization.

Match Requirement

Grants require a minimum of 1:1 match from state, local, non-governmental, or private sources in the form of cash or in-kind contributions of land, service, materials, etc. All matching funds must be secured or firmly committed at the time of the application and supported by a signed letter from the donor.
