The Recycling and Waste Diversion (RWD) Grant provides financial support to projects in Georgia to reduce solid waste, recover valuable materials, support manufacturing, and encourage innovation. This grant is part of the Solid Waste Trust Fund (SWFT).

Eligibility

1. Counties, municipalities, or any combination of the same, hereafter referred to as local governments
2. Public authorities, agencies, commissions, or institutions

Match Requirement

Matching is not required for the RWD Grant; however, applicants who provide matching must document
their match items.

Webinar

The SWTF Grant Team will host an informational webinar on August 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM to review this grant, including eligibility, project examples, and the Portal application process.

Workshops

The SWTF Grant Team will host two virtual workshops on September 14, 2026, and September 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM each day.

Interested applicants can join these workshops to ask questions or receive help with applications. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be open to all. Participation in the workshops does not guarantee a grant award.
