Regional Water Plan Grant Funds

The Regional Water Plan Grants are being provided to support and incentivize local governments and other water users as they undertake their Regional Water Plan implementation responsibilities.

Project proposals must specifically address implementation of management practice(s) or other recommendation(s) from one or more Regional Water Plans, and applications must include a letter of endorsement from the Water Planning Council(s) Chair or designated representative.

SFY2027 Regional Water Plan Grant awards are limited to $150,000 and the project period is limited to thirty (30) months in duration.

Eligibility

Eligible recipients of the Regional Water Plan Grant funds include:

    • local, regional and State units of government
    • local authorities which operate local government service delivery programs
    • regional commissions
    • resource conservation and development councils
    • local school systems
    • State college and universities
    • State agencies

Please note: The SFY2027 Regional Water Plan Grant is specifically for projects associated with the 10 Regional Water Planning Councils and their Regional Water Plans. However, projects that are located within the Metro District, or applicants who are located within the Metro District, are eligible to apply for a Regional Water Plan Grant if all of the following apply:

    • The project will provide benefits in a neighboring Water Planning Council region(s),
    • The project addresses implementation of management practice(s) or other recommendation(s) from the Regional Water Plan(s) for those regions, and
    • The application is endorsed by the neighboring Water Planning Council(s) in those regions.

Match Requirement

Award recipients must provide a minimum match amount of 10% of the total project cost.

Applicants who are able to demonstrate a match commitment of 30% or greater may receive priority consideration for funding.
