Mayor: Wear masks when out in public

While City of Madison officials cannot enact policies stricter than the governor of Georgia has implemented concerning the coronavirus pandemic, some city officials are using their platform to urge local citizens to take more stringent precautions than are currently required by the State of Georgia.

Madison airport to seek $30,000 grant from Coronavirus Aid relief

The City of Madison is applying for airport funding through the new CARES Act through the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), which has allotted nearly $3.5 million to Georgia’s 88 general aviation airports that are in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems.

City extends local state of emergency

The City of Madison voted to extend the local state of emergency for another 30 days due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, a highly contagious and potentially lethal upper-respiratory coronavirus that has caused a worldwide pandemic.
