While beavers continue to be a nuisance along Jones Lake, the City of Waynesboro is doing what it can to find a solution. During last week’s council meeting, city manager Jerry Coalson said they’d hit somewhat of a roadblock when the recommended consultant for a proposed project declined to offer a cost estimate.
After two back-to-back executive sessions in the same meeting, the City of Waynesboro decided to select James “Willie” Burley as the new chief over the police department.
The City of Waynesboro was named a 2018 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.
A major key in keeping our community fire safe is awareness and education. With this thought in mind, the Waynesboro Fire Department is working with National Fire Safety Council, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to provide fire prevention materials for our community through their Annual Fire Prevention Program for the children of Waynesboro and Burke County.
