Two qualify for Wrens special election

Wrens will hold a special election Tuesday, June 18, to fill the vacancy left by Councilmember Johnny Rabun Jr. who resigned to run for mayor. That position became available when former mayor Lester Hadden resigned.

Three qualify for Wrens mayor seat

Qualifying were David A. Hastings, John J. “Johnny” Rabun Jr., and Sharena Louise Johnson-Vaughn. All three listed their occupation as retired on their qualifying forms. According to those forms, Hastings has been a resident of Wrens for 25 years, Rabun a resident for 69 years and Vaughn, a resident for 24 years.

Wrens mayor Lester Hadden resigns
