Join your fellow clerks from District 5 for a Clerk’s Meeting and Luncheon hosted by the City of Arcade. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal together, build relationships with peers from across the region, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the vital role clerks play in municipal government. During this Lunch & Learn, we will discuss onboarding newly elected officials and then discuss any questions and issues you may have encountered when completing this year's Immigration Report.

As Atlanta prepares for a global surge of visitors and activity tied to World Cup 2026, regional cities, counties, and districts will also feel the pressure on public services, traffic, lodging, and local revenues.

Acclimating your newly elected officials to your city is a very important process. This session will focus on preparing you to onboard those new officials and help guide them through your city’s processes & procedures.  Find out what resources are available to assist you & hear about tried & true procedures that have been successful.

City clerks play a critical role in planning retreats for elected officials and staff; however, the term “retreat” is often used as a catch-all, resulting in unfocused events that do not achieve their intended outcomes. This webinar will provide city clerks with a structured approach to planning intentional, purpose-driven retreats. Participants will learn how to identify the appropriate type of retreat, establish clear objectives, and plan effectively to ensure retreats are well-designed, productive, and impactful for elected officials, staff, and the organizations they serve.

GMA will hold the two-day 2026  Winter Training West Event February 12-13 at the Historic Griffin City Hall.  The event features two 6-hour classes on Thursday,  February 12 and two six-hour classes on Friday, February 13. Each class is 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Newly Elected Officials Institute will be held at the UGA Center for Continuing Education in Athens on Feb. 25-27, 2026.

The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) Municipal Revenue Administration Certificate (MRAC) Program includes five classes to enlighten municipal employees and municipal officials on the different revenue sources and applicable laws in the administration and collection process. Program objectives include: Increasing the knowledge of all major components in property tax collection;  Increasing the knowledge of the different taxes and revenue sources; To equip local governments with the tools and resources needed in the administration of the various revenue sources; To increase professionalism through the empowerment of knowledge and skills; To develop skills necessary for maintaining high standards of professionalism to those we serve. Cost is $150 per class and covers materials and lunch.   Please note: There is a $50 administrative fee for all cancellations or changes.

Join fellow Mayors from across District 5 for a valuable day of connection, learning, and professional camaraderie. Hosted by the City of Bogart, this meeting provides an excellent opportunity to share best practices, enjoy a hosted lunch, and engage in meaningful discussions with your peers.

Join us for the District 7 Mayors' Meeting, an event designed to bring mayors together within our district to foster collaboration, share valuable information, and support each other as resources. This gathering provides an excellent opportunity to build camaraderie while enjoying a meal together. Thank you to Mayor Brown and the City of Davisboro for hosting this luncheon.
