Blight & Redevelopment Toolkit

Regardless of size and location, many cities throughout Georgia face challenges related to vacant, abandoned, or poorly maintained properties. This toolkit, accessible to all GMA members, seeks to address all stages of blight remediation and redevelopment and may be used to assist cities in determining how to identify blight, understand the legal implications and requirements for blight removal, and access resources to reverse the short- and long-term consequences of derelict properties. Most importantly, the toolkit allows GMA to build a knowledge base reflecting the current state of blight remediation and redevelopment as well as innovative approaches in anticipation of future trends.
