One of the key roles of local government is to analyze revenues and operate on a balanced budget. This function becomes much more difficult in times of uncertainty, and even more so in the unprecedented times created by the COVID-19 public health emergency. To better understand municipal revenue trends across the state, GMA has created an online resource for your city to safely and easily share your municipal revenues with the state and federal advocacy teams at GMA. These trends are vital for illustrating the revenue impact that the COVID-19 public health emergency has had on local governments' ability to provide critical services to the residents of Georgia and will be a powerful tool when advocating on cities' behalf in both Atlanta and Washington, DC.
Please have your GMA login information ready to provide actual 2019 and 2020 revenues by month to illustrate the revenue impact of the pandemic on Alcohol Excise Tax, Business Occupational Tax, Hotel/Motel Tax, Sales Taxes (LOST, SPLOST, T-SPLOST cumulative), Title Ad Valorem Tax (TAVT) and Enterprise Fund Revenue. GMA will send a reminder email on the 20th of every month to ask for the preceding month's revenue numbers. We appreciate your time and assistance in helping us advocate for all of Georgia's cities!
This tracker asks you to input dollar amounts. The fields have been formatted to allow decimal points, but please do not use dollar signs or other special characters, letters, or symbols when providing financial information.
If you have questions or need additional assistance about revenue data, please contact Joel Wiggins.
