Regulation of Massage Therapy Estbalishments
The bill allows for any city or county to regulate the massage therapy business on state licensure, advertising, inspections and insurance. Additionally, it allows cities and counties to impose distance requirements between massage therapy establishments, as long as massage businesses are not entirely prohibited from locating within a jurisdiction. The bill also grants cities and counties the specific authorization to require criminal background checks of all non-licensed massage therapists, independent contractors and employees at a massage therapy business.
