Booting of Motor Vehicles

This legislation, originally concerning citations issued by law enforcement, was substituted by the Senate Public Safety Committee to be a bill concerning vehicle booting.

Currently, this legislation would explicitly make it illegal to use a vehicle boot on a parked motor vehicle unless authorized to do so by a county or municipal corporation. Specifically, it would prohibit booting operators from conducting business unless they get a regulatory permit issued by the local government whose jurisdiction such operator is domiciled or has a principal place of business. The law allows operators who have permits to conduct botting services 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and 365 days per year.
